Hi! I’m Vegard Beyer, a German communication designer focused on movement strategy. I co-founded Future Matters Project. I spend most of my time studying how movements become successful and applying the answers in today’s climate movements. If you’re unsure where to start reading, check out How movements win.
I graduated on effective communication strategies in environmental crises. Since then I’ve learned, written, taught and advised on communications & movement strategy, e.g. for Sustainability Week Zurich and leaders/workgroups at FFF Germany, Scientists for Future, SchwarmForFuture. I co-founded FFF Germany’s federal working group on citizen lobbying in early 2019 and left once I was superfluous.
These notes are mostly written for myself: they’re how I “think by writing”. I share them publicly because other have inspired me to Work with the garage door up, and The only way to learn in public is to build in public). If anything I’ve written is confusing or incomplete, that’s probably because I didn’t write it for you.
There’s no index: you’ll need to just follow links that interest you, from one idea to another.
As part of my daily work and thinking, I write my notes inside RoamResearch. Some of them, I select to be reformatted and transferred to this public site via roam.garden.
